First off i love in London Ontario Canada. A few months ago i got into an accident in which the police confirmed i was entirely innocent , and the it was the other driver’s fault. However, the police does not know that i was on “parking insurance”. (usually im on “second driver” insurance, but exactly a week before the accident i took it off, because i was traveling). If the police report says you were not at fault, you do not have to pay anything to the other party. Make sure you are not at fault. If you are found to be 51% at fault, you do have to pay – turn it in to your insurance.
